The activities against the genocide of the Palestinian people and the boycott of Teva involve hundreds of organizations, not just healthcare organizations. These activities have years of experience and culminated in a nationwide campaign in 2026, which began in February and will conclude with a march and demonstration in front of the Teva factory in Zaragoza on November 14.
The boycott of Teva has four main aspects:
1/ The political aspect, since Spain has a decentralized, universal public healthcare system (managed by the Autonomous Communities), and therefore public procurement is crucial for the industry. Contracts with Teva have been cancelled in two Autonomous Communities: Asturias and Navarre. Professionals have also filed complaints in these two Communities, as well as in Madrid and the Basque Country, to cancel public purchases. Of particular note is the Terrassa City Council, Barcelona.
2/ Dissemination of public data on the money Teva "donates" to professionals and institutions, revealing significant conflicts of interest and "key opinion leaders" working for Teva.
3/ The afore mentioned grouping of numerous associations working against the Palestinian genocide in a strong state boycott campaign against Teva, focusing on a) the best-selling medications and b) the most expensive medications.
4/ Working with universities, academics, and students to denounce, with data, figures, and names, the connections between Spain and Israel, including in the healthcare sector (with Teva specifically mentioned), because no one is "innocent," not even Spain.
