Una encuesta del Instituto Israelí para la Democracia (4 de marzo de 2026) lo registró en un impresionante 93%. Naturalmente, es más alto en la derecha (97%), sigue siendo del 93% en el centro e incluso alcanza un abrumador 76% en la izquierda. La oposición es insignificante, con un 3%. Recordemos también que el 68% de los votantes judío-israelíes en las últimas elecciones se autodefinieron como derechistas, y ese porcentaje está aumentando al 75% entre los votantes primerizos.

Una encuesta de marzo de 2025 entre judíos israelíes, publicada en Haaretz, produjo resultados realmente impactantes: el 82 por ciento de los encuestados apoyaba la expulsión forzosa de los palestinos de Gaza, mientras que el 56 por ciento apoyaba la expulsión de los ciudadanos palestinos de Israel.

Tras un brutal incidente en julio de 2024, nueve soldados israelíes fueron arrestados por su participación en la tortura y agresión sexual de un palestino detenido en un centro de detención israelí. La agresión fue tan violenta que el hombre quedó en estado crítico con perforación intestinal, fracturas de costillas y traumatismo pulmonar. Una encuesta de la Universidad Hebrea de Jerusalén a principios de junio de 2025 arrojó una estadística escalofriante: una abrumadora mayoría (75 %) de los judíos israelíes está de acuerdo con la idea de que "no hay inocentes en Gaza".

Update 22 March 2026 Jewish-Israeli support for the illegal war of aggression against Iran is near-total. A Israel Democracy Institute poll (March 4, 2026) registered it at a whopping 93%. Naturally highest on the right (97%), it is still 93% at the center, and even an overwhelming 76% on the left. Opposition is at a negligible 3%. Let us also remember that 68% of Jewish-Israeli voters in the last elections were self-described right-wingers, and that percentage is rising to 75% among the first-time voters.

A (March 2024)  poll among Israeli Jews, as reported in Haaretz, produced truly shocking results: 82 percent of respondents reportedly supported the forcible expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza, while 56 percent supported expelling Palestinian citizens of Israel.

After a barbaric incident in July 2024, nine Israeli soldiers were arrested in relation to their collective participation in the torture and sexual assault of a Palestinian man held in Israeli detention.
So violent was this attack that the man was left in critical condition with ruptured intestines, broken ribs, and lung trauma. Despite months of reports by the UN and investigative journalists detailing the abuse of Palestinian detainees, this was the first time that Israeli soldiers had been arrested in relation to such crimes. Elected members of the Israeli Knesset joined protests in Israel in support of the soldiers, while a survey (August 2024) conducted by the Israeli Institute for National Security Studies found that 65% of Israeli Jews believed the arrested soldiers should not face criminal charges, both of which highlight an entrenched culture of wider political and public support for such violence.

A poll from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in early June 2025 provided a chilling statistic: An overwhelming majority (75%) of Jewish Israelis agree with the idea of there being “no innocents in Gaza.” 

The Peace Index poll (July 2025) included this question: "Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, proposed that the IDF relocate all residents of the Gaza Strip to a closed tent camp to be established by Israel in the Rafah area, permitting them to leave it only for other countries. To what extent do you support or oppose this proposal?" 63% of the Jews Israelis support it.

The Problem Isn’t Just Netanyahu. It’s Israeli Society

Despite blaming the prime minister, a large majority of Jewish Israeli citizens support his destructive policies in Gaza and beyond.

The focus on Netanyahu is a convenient distraction from the fact that the war in Gaza is not Netanyahu’s war, it is Israel’s war—and the problem isn’t only Netanyahu; it’s the Israeli electorate.
Blaming Netanyahu—who refuses to leave Israeli political life despite being on trial for corruption and presiding over the country during the worst catastrophe in its history—has eclipsed the fact that when it comes to Israeli policies on Gaza in particular, and the Palestinians in general, many Israelis are broadly aligned with Netanyahu. By a large margin they support the current military campaign in Gaza and the government’s goal of destroying Hamas, whatever the human toll for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
