Mental health care institution Mediant is taking a public stand against the violence in Gaza.
The organization is not just choosing words, but also action: Israeli products are being boycotted. At the same time, care remains unconditional and accessible to everyone.
The mental health care institution in Twente has shared a statement about the war in Gaza via LinkedIn and on its website.
Mediant says it stands for humanity, compassion, and the protection of mental well-being – values that, according to the organization, are incompatible with remaining silent about the ongoing violence.
Suppliers included in the action In the statement, Mediant explicitly distances itself from "the large-scale, systematic, and devastating violence" that the institution claims is being perpetrated by the Israeli army in Gaza.
Mediant believes words alone are insufficient.
Therefore, the organization is also taking action: boycotting Israeli products. Suppliers are included in this decision.

At the same time, Mediant emphasizes that care always remains unconditional.
"Clients, regardless of their background or political views, should never be the victims of geopolitical choices."
The organization says it remains committed to safe, accessible, and respectful mental healthcare for everyone.
"Our voice is just one of many, and our action may be a drop in the bucket," Mediant writes. "But we believe that silence and inaction are not an option. Based on our social responsibility and ethical compass, we choose clarity, humanity, and solidarity."

De geestelijke gezondheidszorginstelling in Twente, heeft via LinkedIn en op hun website een statement gedeeld over de oorlog in Gaza.
Mediant zegt te staan voor menselijkheid, compassie en het beschermen van psychisch welzijn – waarden die volgens de organisatie niet verenigbaar zijn met zwijgen over het voortdurende geweld.

Tegelijkertijd benadrukt Mediant dat de zorg altijd onvoorwaardelijk blijft. "Cliënten, ongeacht hun achtergrond of politieke opvattingen, mogen nooit de dupe worden van geopolitieke keuzes." De organisatie zegt zich te blijven inzetten voor veilige, toegankelijke en respectvolle geestelijke gezondheidszorg voor iedereen.
"Onze stem is slechts één van velen, en onze actie misschien een druppel op een gloeiende plaat", schrijft Mediant. "Maar wij geloven dat zwijgen en niets doen geen optie is. Vanuit onze maatschappelijke verantwoordelijkheid en ethisch kompas kiezen wij voor helderheid, menselijkheid en solidariteit."
