Declaración final de la 38ª Cumbre de la Unión Africana: "Israel está cometiendo un genocidio contra los palestinos y debe ser procesado internacionalmente. Hacemos un llamamiento para poner fin a la cooperación y la tolerancia en las relaciones con Israel hasta que ponga fin a su ocupación y agresión contra Palestina".

La Unión Africana (UA), organización continental formada por 55 países de África, celebró del 15 al 16 de febrero de 2025 su cumbre anual en Adís Abeba (Etiopía). El lema de su 38ª Cumbre fue "Justicia para los africanos y los afrodescendientes a través de reparaciones”. 
En ella se discutieron, entre otros temas los 35 conflictos activos en el continente, estrategias para abordar el cambio climático y sus efectos en salud y medidas para exigir reparación frente al colonialismo de antiguas potencias y el cese de explotación de sus recursos. 
En el ámbito internacional se analizó la actual situación en Palestina y genocidio cometido por Israel, incluyendo en su declaración final de la 38ª Asamblea de la Unión africana: 
“Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian and must be prosecuted internationally. We call for an end of cooperation and normalization with Israel until it ends its occupation and aggression against Palestine” 
“Israel está cometiendo un genocidio contra Palestina y debe ser procesado internacionalmente. Pedimos el fin de la cooperación y tolerancia con Israel hasta acabe su ocupación y agresión contra Palestina” 
Esta declaración están en línea con el posicionamiento mantenido de la Unión Africana desde hace años denunciando la privación al pueblo palestino de sus derechos fundamentales, específicamente el derecho a la soberanía en su propio territorio, y la denuncia a la estrategia de ocupación de Israel en territorio de Palestina. 
Es preciso destacar la contundencia de las declaraciones surgidas de la Cumbre de la Unión Africana al denunciar el genocidio que Israel está cometiendo en Gaza y Cisjordania contra al pueblo palestino y al instar a que sus estados miembros rompan relaciones económicas y políticas con Israel. 
Una contundencia en las denuncias a Israel que no ha sido vista en otros organismos internacionales ni estados europeos ni del Norte Global. 
Un uso de la terminología basado en la múltiple evidencia presentada en relación al actual genocidio y a la continuada política de ocupación y colonización de Israel en territorio palestino, terminología evitada en organismos internacionales y estados europeos o del Norte Global. 
Un llamamiento al cese completo de relaciones con Israel, que se ha mantenido activo en organismos y estados europeos o del Norte Global, incluyendo la contribución directa en el actual genocidio mediante la cooperación en general y en información estratégica, y la venta y compra de material armamentístico con el estado de Israel.

Final statement of the 38th African Union Summit: "Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians and must be prosecuted internationally. We call for an end to cooperation and normalization with Israel until it ends its occupation and aggression against Palestine."

The African Union (AU), a continental organization made up of 55 African countries, held its annual summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 15 to 16 February 2025. The motto of its 38th Summit was “Justice for Africans and Afro-descendants through reparations.”

The Summit discussed, among other topics, the 35 active conflicts on the continent, strategies to address climate change and its effects on health and measures to demand reparation for colonialism by former powers and the cessation of exploitation of its resources.

At the international level, the current situation in Palestine and the genocide committed by Israel were analyzed, including in its final declaration of the 38th Assembly of the African Union:

“Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians and must be prosecuted internationally. We call for an end of cooperation and normalization with Israel until it ends its occupation and aggression against Palestine”.

This statement is in line with the position maintained by the African Union for years denouncing the deprivation of the Palestinian people of their fundamental rights, specifically the right to sovereignty in their own territory, and the denunciation of Israel's occupation strategy in Palestinian territory.

It is necessary to highlight the forcefulness of the declarations that emerged from the African Union Summit in denouncing the genocide that Israel is committing in Gaza and the West Bank against the Palestinian people and in urging its member states to break economic and political relations with Israel.

A forcefulness in the denunciations of Israel that has not been seen in other international organizations or European states or in the Global North. A use of terminology based on the multiple evidence presented in relation to the current genocide and the continued policy of occupation and colonization of Israel in Palestinian territory, terminology avoided in international organizations and European states or in the Global North.

A call for a complete cessation of relations with Israel, which has been active in European or Global North organizations and states, including direct contribution to the current genocide through general cooperation and strategic information, and the sale and purchase of weapons material with the State of Israel.
