Esperando al "Vall d'Hebron Institut de Recerca" (VHIR)

El pasado mes de Abril nos pusimos en contacto con diferentes responsables y autoridades del mundo de la Investigación Médica en Cataluña para denunciar la anomalía ética que se estaba produciendo en el Instituto de Investigación del Hospital Vall D`Hebrón de Barcelona.

El punto conflictivo que señalábamos consistía en la presencia de dos personas vinculadas estrechamente a Teva en los dos principales órganos rectores del VIHR, el Comité Científico Interno y el Comité Científico Externo.

.En el Comité Científico Interno se sienta la Dra. Patricia Pozo Rosich, con el cargo de Vicepresidenta del Comité, que es Responsable del Área Brain, Mind & Behaviour, Responsable del Grupo de Investigación Cefalea y Dolor Neurológico y Jefa del Servicio de Neurología del Hospital Vall d´Hebron. Pero además de todos estos prestigiosos cargos, la Doctora Pozo es hoy en día la principal KOL (Key Opinion Leader) de la empresa Teva en España. Esta Doctora recibe anualmente del Laboratorio Teva generosas cantidades en forma de Transferencias de Valor (TOV).

Pero es que en el Comité Científico Externo del VHIR se sienta la Prof. Ronit Satchi-Fainaro, que se presenta en la web del VHIR como Jefa del Laboratorio de Investigación en Cáncer y Nanomedicina,  Catedrática de The Hermann and Kurt Lion en Nanociencia y Nanotecnología del Departamento de Fisiología y Farmacología de Sackler School of Medicine en Tel Aviv University (Israel). Pero lo que se OCULTA en esa presentación es que esta profesora forma parte del Consejo de Administración de Teva, el máximo órgano decisorio de la compañía israelí.

Desde entonces se han dirigido a la Campaña diferentes correos comentando que se iba a investigar este suceso y que adoptarían decisiones al respetco.

El último correo es del Comité de Integridad de la Investigación del VHIR y es de Junio 2026. Por ahora, todo sigue igual….

Last April, we contacted various officials and authorities in the field of Medical Research in Catalonia to report the ethical irregularity occurring at the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute in Barcelona.
 
The point we raised was the presence of two individuals closely linked to Teva on the two main governing bodies of the VHIR: the Internal Scientific Committee and the External Scientific Committee.
 
Patricia Pozo Rosich sits on the Internal Scientific Committee as Vice President. She is Head of the Brain, Mind & Behavior Area, Head of the Headache and Neurological Pain Research Group, and Head of the Neurology Department at Vall d'Hebron Hospital.
 
But in addition to all these prestigious positions, Dr. Pozo is currently Teva's main KOL (Key Opinion Leader) in Spain. She receives generous annual payments from Teva in the form of Transfers of Value (TOV).
 
Also, Ronit Satchi-Fainaro sits on the VHIR's External Scientific Committee. She presents herself on the VHIR website as Head of the Cancer and Nanomedicine Research Laboratory and The Hermann and Kurt Lion Professor of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University (Israel).
 
But what is HIDDEN in this presentation is that this professor is a member of Teva's Board of Directors, the highest decision-making body of the Israeli company.
 
The letter that was sent is available HERE. Since then, the Campaign has received several emails stating that this incident would be investigated and that decisions would be made accordingly. The most recent email is from the VHIR Research Integrity Committee and is dated June 2026. For now, everything remains the same…
