Un colega Dr Ezeedeen 
“Hoy era mi turno en el hospital.
Desde nuestro regreso al Hospital Indonesio, he estado trabajando codo con codo con dos médicos. Uno de ellos era el Dr. Mahmoud Abu Amsha.
Esta mañana llegó tarde. Llamamos. No hubo respuesta. Esperamos. Seguía sin haber señales. Entonces llegó la noticia, cruel y repentina: Mahmoud había muerto en un ataque aéreo.
Su cuerpo fue llevado al mismo hospital, donde lo esperamos en un silencio indescriptible.
Conozco a Mahmoud no solo como colega, sino como un hermano en las trincheras.
Cuando el ejército israelí irrumpió en el norte de Gaza y la mayoría de los médicos huyeron para salvar sus vidas, Mahmoud se quedó.
Él y el Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya fueron los últimos en resistir en el Hospital Kamal Adwan. Mahmoud, el único cirujano que quedaba, trabajó incansablemente en un lugar que se había convertido más en un cementerio que en un hospital.
Desde dentro, me enviaba notas de voz. Fragmentos de desesperación y coraje. Las publiqué, esperando que alguien, en algún lugar, lo escuchara. Cuando finalmente se derrumbó el hospital, se llevaron a Mahmoud. Lo golpearon.
Luego lo liberaron. Llegó a la ciudad de Gaza sin nada, ni siquiera sus zapatos. Fuimos juntos a comprarle ropa. Bromeé con él diciéndole que no podría usarla toda antes de que otra evacuación lo obligara a dejarla atrás.
No sabía entonces que su próxima partida sería eterna, no un desplazamiento esta vez, sino una desaparición en el silencio de la muerte. Cuando abrí nuestra clínica gratuita, le envié un mensaje. Seguía atrapado en Kamal Adwan.
"Simplemente sobrevive", le dije. "Ven cuando puedas".
Sobrevivió. Apareció.
Se ofrecía como voluntario dos días a la semana, atendiendo a los heridos sin pedir nada a cambio. Con sus manos, sanaba. Con su presencia, nos daba esperanza.
Y ahora, se ha ido.
Otra luz se apaga en una ciudad de luto eterno.
La muerte de Mahmoud no es solo mía. Es una herida en el corazón del alma médica de Gaza. Es una pérdida para los pacientes que nunca conocerán su atención, para los niños que nunca sentirán su firmeza en urgencias, para el futuro que vemos derrumbarse, un sanador a la vez.
No perdimos solo a un médico. Perdimos la resistencia en su forma más noble. Perdimos la piedad. Descansa en paz, amigo. Lo diste todo.

Soportó el asedio del Hospital Kamal Adwan hasta su destrucción, junto con otros compañeros como el Dr Hussam Abu Safiya. 
Se mantuvo al lado de sus pacientes hasta el final 
Fue secuestrado por el ejército israelí y torturado 
Al ser liberado, volvió a ejercer como médico en las terribles condiciones que está sufriendo Gaza
Ayer fue asesinado por el ejército de Israel 
No te conocimos, pero te recordaremos siempre, como un ejemplo para la profesión médica,  de humanidad y de valentía. 
Como recordamos a los más de 1500 trabajadores sanitarios asesinados por Israel en estos 19 meses de genocidio. 
¡Basta ya!

A collegue, Dr Ezeedeen
‘Today was my shift at the hospital.
Since our return to the Indonesian Hospital, I’ve been working side by side with two doctors. One of them was Dr. Mahmoud Abu Amsha.
This morning, he was late.
We called. No answer.
We waited. Still, no sign.

Then the news came, cruel & sudden: Mahmoud had been killed in an airstrike. His body was brought to the very hospital where we stood waiting for him in silence that no words could fill.

I’ve known Mahmoud not just as a colleague, but as a brother in the trenches.
When the Israeli army stormed northern Gaza and most doctors fled for their lives, Mahmoud stayed. He & Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya were the last to hold the line at Kamal Adwan Hospital. Mahmoud - the only remaining surgeon - worked tirelessly in a place that had become more graveyard than hospital.

From inside, he sent me voicenotes. Fragments of despair & courage. I posted them here, hoping someone, somewhere, would listen.

When the hospital finally fell, Mahmoud was taken. Beaten. Then released.
He made it to Gaza City with nothing not even his shoes. We went together to buy him some clothes. I teased him that he wouldn’t get to wear them all before another evacuation forced him to leave them behind.
I didn’t know then that his next departure would be eternal, not displacement this time, but disappearance into the silence of death.

When I opened our free clinic, I messaged him.
He was still trapped in Kamal Adwan.
“Just stay alive,” I told him. “Come when you can.”
He survived. He showed up. He volunteered two days a week, treating the wounded without asking for anything in return. With his hands, he healed. With his presence, he gave us hope.

And now, he’s gone.
Another light extinguished in a city of endless mourning.

Mahmoud’s death is not just mine to grieve. It is a wound in the heart of Gaza’s medical soul. It is a loss to the patients who will never know his care, to the children who will never feel his steady hands in the ER, to the future we are watching collapse one healer at a time.

We did not lose just a doctor.
We lost resistance in its noblest form.
We lost mercy.

Rest well, my friend.
You gave everything.

He endured the siege of Kamal Adwan Hospital until it was destroyed, along with other colleagues such as Dr Hussam Abu Safiya. 
He stood by his patients until the end 
He was kidnapped by the Israeli army and tortured 
When he was released, he returned to practice as a doctor in the terrible conditions that Gaza is suffering
Yesterday he was killed by the Israeli army 
We did not know you, but we will always remember you, as an example for the medical profession, of humanity and bravery. 
As we remember the more than 1500 health workers killed by Israel in these 19 months of genocide. 
Enough is enough
